Welcome to Fun Times Finance! I’m so excited to get started on this journey to show you how to finance for the fun times. Here are the basics about me:
- I’m a 29-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada living in New York City and working at a non-profit organization.
- I moved to NYC with zero connections, very little money, and a dream.
- Since that move five years ago, I’ve gone from no job to working at a coffee shop to a part-time position to two part-time positions to my current full-time position (that I love).
- I’ve gone from living in an AirBnB to living with three roommates to living with my soon-to-be husband (we’re getting married this June).
Along the way, I’ve learned a ton about both finance and fun. I’ve visited 38 countries on six continents, skydived, bungee jumped, scuba dived, surfed, safaried, paraglided, acted in a West African soap opera, and had my hotel room broken into by a baboon. All of these experiences required financial planning, especially since I’ve chosen a career at non-profit organizations instead of one on Wall Street.
I’m passionate about helping young people develop a stable financial backing without giving up their fun years to over the top frugality. I’ll show you: how to travel without going broke, fun things to do on the cheap, how to save for the future without heartbreaking FOMO, how to make budgets fun, and more!
It’s possible to live your best life without going broke, and I’m here to help you do just that.
